Lucas: But the truth is... the color has absolutely nothing to do with the tape's strength or function. It's pure chromotherapy, that is, a visual preference.

Lucas: This technique was created in the seventies by Dr. Kenzo Kase, who said something key: "Movement is health, but immobilization is not."
Alba: So this tape is designed to allow movement, not restrict it. What is it made of?
Lucas: It's an adhesive elastic bandage, one hundred percent cotton and hypoallergenic. Its elasticity is up to 140%, very similar to that of the skin.
Alba: And you can leave it on for a while, right?
Lucas: Yes, it's water-resistant and can be worn for 3 to 5 days, with a 24-hour rest period between applications.
Alba: Okay, so if it's not the color, how does it work? What does it actually do to the body?
Lucas: Think of it this way: when you move, the tape gently lifts the skin. This creates a tiny space between the dermis and the muscle.
Alba: And that space... what does it achieve?
Lucas: It achieves several things. It reduces the pressure on pain receptors, which relieves pain. And it improves blood and lymphatic flow, which helps reduce inflammation.

Lucas: Exactly. And the application technique is crucial. To potentiate a muscle, you apply it from origin to insertion. To relax it, you do the opposite.

Lucas: You got it! Now, it's important to know that it doesn't increase strength in healthy adults. Its power lies elsewhere.
Alba: For example?
Lucas: It has shown good results in patients who have had a stroke, improving balance. And it's used as a complementary resource in the rehabilitation of children with motor disabilities.

Lucas: Esa la usamos para dar soporte a ligamentos o tendones, aplicando hasta un 100% de estiramiento. Es como darle un recordatorio al cuerpo sobre cómo moverse correctamente.
