Mia: To je 'private bathroom'. A ten strašák, o kterém mluvíš, je 'shared bathroom', tedy sdílená koupelna.

James: Dobře, takže vždycky hledat 'private bathroom'. A co když chci něco víc než jen pokoj? Třeba s malou kuchyňkou?

Mia: Tak to hledáš 'studio'! To je vlastně taková garsonka, tedy jednopokojový byt, kde máš všechno pohromadě.

James: Perfektní! Takže abychom to shrnuli: 'single' pro jednoho, 'twin' pro dva s oddělenými postelemi, a vždycky chtít 'private bathroom'! Tohle se bude u maturity hodit.

James: And that covers getting there. So for our last topic, let's talk about where we're actually staying! I can't wait to be there.

Mia: Me neither! And you're right, we need to book our accommodation in advance. It’s a crucial step.

James: So, you write down the required destination, and then what? Just cross your fingers?

Mia: Pretty much! You enter the date of your arrival and departure, then check what is available.

James: And the system selects the most suitable place for you. You can set your budget too, right?

Mia: Exactly. And you have to decide... do we prefer a big hotel or a private apartment?

James: Then comes my favourite part. Shall we order breakfast, half board, full board or all inclusive?

Mia: 'All inclusive' is always tempting! Then you find the perfect spot and say, 'This hotel looks awesome!'

James: Okay, so we've arrived. We're probably exhausted for one night after travelling. What's the check-in process?

Mia: You'll go to the front desk, and they'll likely ask, "Have you got a reservation?"

James: And then they ask for your documents. I always get nervous about that bit.

Mia: Don't be! They'll just say, "Please may I see some form of ID?" That's usually your passport. Then they might ask you to fill in a registration form.

James: And you get the key card! The magic ticket.

Mia: That's the one. You need the key card to enter your room, and sometimes the gym or other areas.

James: What if something goes wrong? Say, the lift is out of order. How inconvenient!

Mia: It happens! If you have lots of luggage, the porter will help you with it.

James: A porter! A professional bag-carrier. I like it.

Mia: And if the hotel makes a mistake, they might say, "I would like to apologise for the inconvenience caused. Coffee is on the house."

James: Ooh, free coffee! What a relief! It's great when breakfast is included in the price too.

Mia: It is! And it's usually served from 8 to 10 am. Just follow the directions in the hotel guide.
