Sara: And let's talk about an American icon, Mark Twain! He was a riverboat pilot during the Civil War who grew up poor and passionately hated racism.

Sam: And he wrote such funny adventures! It’s amazing how their lives—from riches to poverty to war—shaped the books we still study today.
