Word groups and explanations
Positive / beneficial words
beneficial: prospešný, blahodárny
- Use for effects that bring advantage or improvement.
- Example: "A balanced diet is beneficial to health." — "Vyvážená strava je prospešná pre zdravie."
boost: to improve or increase something — povzbudiť, podporiť, oživiť
- Collocations: boost confidence, boost sales.
- Example: "This update will boost performance." — "Táto aktualizácia zlepší výkon."
Business/activity trends and results
boom: an increase in something, or a time when something becomes more popular — rozmach, vzostup, boom bottom line: the final result or most important consideration — to hlavné, to podstatné cash cow: a product or service that always makes a profit — dojná krava, zlatá baňa
Actions: do, make, manage
carry out: to do or complete something — vykonať, uskutočniť implement: to start using a plan or system — uskutočniť, vykonať, implementovať

Mixing, combining, tastes
blend: to mix or combine things together — zmiestať bland: not having a strong taste or character — nevýrazný, bez chuti

collaborate: to work with someone else — spolupracovať common ground: shared interests or beliefs — spoločná pôda, spoločné záujmy get the best out of someone: help someone perform at their best — dostať z niekoho to najlepšie
Example: "Teams that collaborate well find common ground faster." — "Tímy, ktoré dobre spolupracujú, rýchlejšie nájdu spoločné záujmy."
Feelings, reactions, states
concerned: worried — majúci starosti, obavy outraged: extremely angry — pobúrený overwhelmed: to be too much to deal with — zaplavený, premôcť sa
Practical tip: Use short phrases to practice: "I feel concerned about...", "She was outraged by...".
Communication & meetings
catch-up: an informal meeting to update on events — stretnutie, zraz pitch (an idea): offer an idea for consideration — predložiť nápad spread the word: communicate a message widely — šíriť informácie
Example: "Let's have a quick catch-up to pitch ideas and spread the word." — "Urobme krátke stretnutie, aby sme predložili nápady a rozšírili informácie."
Work & performance (general vocabulary only)
performance: how well someone or something does at a task — výkon performance review / appraisal: meeting to discuss progress — hodnotenie pracovného výkonu
