Ava: It’s for evening things out. On some engines, the fuel-air mix isn't perfectly even. So the plug near the exhaust, where the mix is leaner, fires a split-second earlier. This ensures the flame fronts from both plugs meet perfectly in the middle of the cylinder for a smooth, powerful combustion.
Noah: I've heard you should always keep spark plugs in a numbered tray when you remove them. Why is that so important?
Ava: Because a spark plug is like a detective! It tells you so much about the health of the specific cylinder it came from. You can spot signs of detonation or overheating just by looking at the plug.
