Regulations Affecting All Plants

  1. Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD): Signed by 168 nations, this convention aims for the conservation of biological diversity, the sustainable use of its components, and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits from genetic resources.   2. Plant Health – Preventing Pests and Diseases: A primary concern is preventing the introduction of alien pests and diseases that can devastate agricultural crops and plant ecosystems.
  • Controlled Plant Pathogens: This includes a wide range of organisms such as insects, mites, nematodes, bacteria, fungi, viruses, and parasitic plants.
  • Scope of Regulations: These rules apply to all EU countries, specific zones (countries, regions), and particular plants (e.g., Czech Republic, Directive 215/2008 Sb).
