In short
Why students make their flashcards with StudyFi
From your own material
Every card comes from your lectures and readings, not from someone else's set for a different course.
More than flashcards
The same upload also gives you a summary, a mind map and a scored quiz on the material.
Reviews that schedule themselves
On paid plans, spaced repetition decides what is due each day, so you only open what you are about to forget.
Web and mobile
Make cards on your laptop and revise them on your phone — StudyFi runs on the web, iOS and Android.
How to turn your notes into flashcards
- 1
Upload your material
Add a PDF, PowerPoint (PPTX) or Word file, a photo of handwritten notes, or paste text. Paid plans also take lecture recordings.
- 2
AI picks out what matters
StudyFi reads the material, finds the key terms, definitions and ideas, and writes a question-and-answer card for each.
- 3
Study smart
Flip each card, answer before you look, and rate how well you knew it. Come back to the cards you missed.
What makes a good flashcard?
A good flashcard asks one thing and makes you produce the answer from memory. That effort — active recall — is what makes it stick, which is why re-reading a page of notes does far less than answering ten questions about it.
Coming back to the same cards over days and weeks, just before you would forget them, is the other half. That is spaced repetition, and it is why flashcards work better as a habit than as a cram.

Frequently asked questions
Upload them to StudyFi — a PDF, a Word or PowerPoint file, a photo of handwritten notes or pasted text — and the flashcards are written for you in a few moments. Each card asks one question from your material. Then flip through them, answer from memory and repeat the ones you missed.
Yes. StudyFi reads the PDF, picks out the key terms, definitions and ideas, and writes a question-and-answer card for each. It works for lecture handouts, readings and exported slides. On the free plan a single file can be up to 15 MB; paid plans take larger files.
Yes, upload the PPTX file directly — there is no need to convert it to PDF first. StudyFi uses the text on the slides to build the cards, so slides with real content work best. Older .ppt files are not supported; save them as PPTX or PDF first.
Yes, on paid plans you can edit the front and back of any card and add your own. On the free plan you can delete cards you do not need but not edit them. Either way, read through the cards once: they come from your material, but you know your course best.
Yes, you can start free. The free plan lets you upload your own material and make flashcards, within monthly limits on reviews and other tools. Paid plans add spaced-repetition scheduling, card editing, larger uploads, lecture recordings and podcasts. There is no commitment to start.
Yes, on paid plans. StudyFi schedules each card with FSRS, a modern spaced-repetition algorithm, so cards you know well come back less often and cards you miss come back sooner. On the free plan you can still study your decks, without the automatic schedule.
